Caption Contest for the Jam Session
January 21st, 2010I need your help. I don't have captions for the Jam Session pictures from Friday, Jan 15. Please give me your suggestions. We want the captions to include the names of the people in the pictures, but they can also be humorous (or serious)... Just include the picture number and your caption. Just post your suggestion as a comment here. Just click on the feedback link below.

Euchre Class
January 21st, 2010We are putting together a workshop to teach anyone who is interested how to play Euchre. This is an easy to play card game which a lot of us in the park enjoy. We enjoy it enough to play two nights a week, in fact. In this workshop we will teach you the basics of the game and practice playing using the rules and scoring formats we use on Tuesday and Thursday nights. This workshop should also help anyone who has played before but is a little rusty refresh their skills before joining us in the regular games. We invite experienced players to join us, also, to help the new players learn. New players may need to come more than once to be ready for the regular game. People who have played other "trick based" games such as bridge will probable be ready after one session.
Photography Workshop
December 22nd, 2009Alfred Lanctot, who has contributed many pictures for this web site has agreed to lead a photography workshop starting in January. This will be a good chance for anyone interested in photography, whether a beginner or an expert to learn something new and contribute to what others learn. Fred says to bring your cameras and your questions. I suppose you could bring some photographs that went wrong and discuss what could have made them work. If you put your finger over the lens you may be able to figure it out but if you have bad exposures and other problems this is a chance to discuss what might be done. The workshop will be in the Rec Hall starting at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan 5. If you have any questions in advance or topics you want to be sure to cover, go ahead and leave a comment here and Fred will be ready for you on the 5th. See you there.
New Activities
June 1st, 2009What do you want to do? Are there activities you would like to see take place but are not on the schedule? This is the place. Please put a comment with your suggestions. Others who read the blog can then comment on them. Check out what others are suggesting.
Activity Reporters
June 1st, 2009Would you like to see your byline on articles? Always wanted to be a news reporter or photographer? This web site and blog would love to start finding reporters for next season's activities. Let's see more information from all our activities posted on the web site this coming season. We can get you a special page for your activity, or post your articles on the blog and allow others to comment. The level of reporting could be anything you want, from just making sure pictures of the activity get posted to write ups about the people involved or anything else of interest about the activity. Please leave a comment if you might be interested. We can provide training on what is needed to be a successful reporter.
